Wednesday. 16th [October 1912]. In the afternoon I conducted Sir Arthur & Sir Edward to the Palazzo Doria delle Rose to see the fine tapestries that are there. The family keeps the 1st floor as a kind of family museum & allows strangers to see over it. From there we went to the Grand Hotel to have tea with Mrs Pierpont Morgan who is in Venice for a few days. She is most agreeable—more so than her celebrated husband the great millionaire. Corise & Eda met us there & Sir Arthur walked back with them. | |
