10 March 1862 — Exeter House, Roehampton
Monday. 10th [March 1862]. Breakfast at 9½– Wrote letters to Mrs Bertie etc.– Went to see Mrs Cameron and tell her about Ivory– Did not do the boys lessons—had no time– Went in to town at ¼ 2—when we had got a little way found we had forgotten to bring the music and had to go back for it– Went over Putney Bridge & arrived at Broadwoods the same moment as Hallé– Had a very nice lesson—he played beautifully—Mendlessohn’s Capriccio No. 2– Blanche went over to Richd with Margaret & Trenfield—came home late for dinner great fuss with Ecca—played backgammon with Ecca and gammoned her twice running she left in a pet– Went to bed at ten– Saw Mr & Lord Henniker in town in Pall Mall–
