14 March 1862 — Exeter House, Roehampton | |
Friday. 14th [March 1862]. Miss Kemble went off before breakfast to see her mother—breakfast rather late. Maria came over at 11½ and she, Connie, Cecil & Trenfield went into town—they went to luncheon with Mrs Layard (York St). I drove Kitty out in the poney carriage and we went to call on Bss Hambro—they leave Roe: tomorrow & return in April– Practised—and soon Lady Louisa & Mr Ponsonby came with Gran: Ethel & May—had five oclock tea with us– Blanche’s cold so bad that she did not get up and was consequently not able to go to the dancing with Con. Richard came to dinner and Mrs Cam: came in while we were at dinner—(she went to Little Holland Hse afterwards)– They played whist whilst I played the piano and then played dominoes with Cecil– Maria had a letter from the mother from Königsberg Ivor getting on. Bed at 10½. | |
