19 March 1862 — Exeter House, Roehampton | |
Wednesday. 19th [March 1862]. Practised and wrote letters in morning. Ecca & Blanche went over to Richmond & stayed dinner. Connie’s cold better but she did not go out. I went over to the Camerons’ & saw Chas: & Henry. Staid some time with them and then sat in the arbour of our garden—as it was very damp I did not sit there long. Came in at 5. Connie showed me No. 1 Portland Times & I wrote a leading article to No. 2. We slat wicky till 10 and then Connie came and undressed in my room & B. & Ecca came back at 10½ went to bed at 11½. Connie came in the middle of the night for a night light as she could not get to sleep– | |
