28 March 1862 — Exeter House, Roehampton
Friday. 28th [March 1862]. Sent the poney carriage over to fetch Ria and Kate. Ria came along in time for luncheon. She had written the night before to say she would go to dine at Longs. I sent helper in to Montie to know if he expected us (as I was after all to have gone). Maria went in to spend the day with Mrs Norman at 7 Cromwell Place. The helper came back a little after 4 PM. with note from Montie to say he had an engagement and could not have us to dinner– Ria & Rd came back to dine here. Lord Lindsey & Mr Flamanck arrived on a visit at 5 oclock—Milord looking blooming– Miss K. & I walked to Putney in the course of afternoon. 5 oclock tea—dinner at 7½– Played a little whist with Ria, Rd & Ecca– Bed 10½– Trenfield went to Norfolk.
