23 June 1862 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset
Monday. 23rd [June 1862]. Very late for breakfast—went up to print directly after. Printed off a page by myself and then went to luncheon. Blanche, Connie & Merthyr went off in the morng to High Cliff & Christchurch– I printed again—at least “composed type” till 4½ and then went out in the poney carriage with Schr. We went towards Christchurch on the chance of meeting the riding party—but missed them– We did not go quite to Christh. Schr dropped me at Mrs Pynes. I sat & had a talk with her—walking home at 8, saw old Mrs Wareham watering her flowers– Dinner at 8½, after dinner played and walked up & down the Hall with Ivory. Went up to printing and bed at 20m 10. Letter from Fanny Hamond & Car in mg.
