27 June 1862 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Friday. 27th [June 1862]. Down in pretty good time to breakfast. Found that Ivor and Merthyr had gone off to Stanbridge Mill to fish– Went up to print immediately after breakft. Connie & I printed off a page and then abt 12 the boys came home and Arthur & I did the title page to no. 9– We then set to clean up and just finished by luncheon time. Madre received a telegram just before luncheon to say that Maria had a boy last night & both were well. Blanche & Con: went out perch fishg in the river with Schr. After luncheon went up to printing room till 5—then went out. Went to Mrs Pynes and found them all gone out to Bucknowle. Met the 3 youngest Ponsonbys out walking. Arthur came back with me. We called at Mrs Whitelocks lodge and came home by that road. We had tea in the hall and after I wrote letters on the bowling green. Dinner soon after 8. After dinner sat on the sofa with Ivory who fell asleep & slept all the eveng. I went to bed at 11. Heard from Blossett– | |
