8 July 1862 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Tuesday. 8th [July 1862]. Got up at 8½. Had a letter from Mrs Tennyson. Got down just in time to see Montie, Ivor & Arthur go off to Lymington to try poor A’s yacht– After breakfast I went up and printed till half past 4 in aftern only just taking ½ hour for luncheon—and prepared a whole page besides distributing 1 P. & ½– I got a letter fm Kate also fm FEB– I went to Mrs Pynes with Temmy & had tea. Blan & Con joined us there– Mary walked as far as Mrs Allen’s with us– I wrote letters to FAE & Blossett. Ivor returned by 9 train & we waited dinner for him– Blanche & Ecca went to bed early & did not come to dinner– Ivor told us the Berties were comg on Sat: We looked at Ivors china wh arrived today 104 plates of Oriental– Made up Kate’s bed and went to bed rather late– | |
