15 July 1862 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Tuesday. 15th [July 1862]. Was down in the middle of breakfast, went up to the tool room & printed till luncheon, at 1 the M. went to lunch & I fetched up Elizabeth to help me to print off– At 4 I went out driving in the large carriage with Ecca– Had some tea at 6—and then I & Elizabeth printed off another page and set up the page of Contents but as we could not get the level right I did not get it printed & finished till past nine. I then had a little dinner the others having all finished. I read a little of Pickwick to the M. but she dropped off in the midst & I went off to bed at 11– St Swithins day & a small shower in the afternoon—a rainbow in the sky– | |
