24 July 1862 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Thursday. 24th [July 1862]. Woke much better this morng. Had letters & wrote some in morng in bed– Kate came & sat with me & brought baby. I played about with her so long that I only managed to be down to luncheon. After luncheon I went out in the poney carriage with Kate & Cecil. We drove to Kingston Lacy Mr Bankes place but did not get out & taking a round returned thro’ Wimborne. We then drove to Mrs Pynes & had a cup of tea. Kate went to enquire at Mrs Luffs who had a little girl this morng– Had a telegram to say B & Schr & Con: Bloss: would be home by mail 2 AM tomorrow—bed at 11– | |
