11 August 1862 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Monday. 11th [August 1862]. Mr Flamanck tried to make me print but I did not till the eveng. I found when I came down that Monty had ridden out to Bath. FEB & I went to call upon Lady L. Pon: & when we returned fd Mr Ponsonby here—but he wd not come in to luncheon. After lunch I went & printed till 5 and then sat out & had tea on the lawn. We then ordered Luffs pony chaise and went up to Mrs Pynes to call. Montie came up there after us & then after waiting some time we got the carriage & Montie drove us to Wimborne where I bought Flamanck a prayer book. The children & Ecca returned by the 5 from London & came abt just at the end of dinner. Ivor & Monty sang in the eveng. | |
