12 August 1862 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Tuesday. 12th [August 1862]. Today there was a cricket match between the Canford & Poole. We went out to see it in the afternoon & Mr Glyn, his 2 boys & Brymer Schr came over fm Melbury. Mr Adye came in & had some tea also Lady L. & 2 children– We had tea in the hall and I was hard at work cutting bread & jam for all the children. Blan: Con: FEB & Monty went out riding– I showed B. Schr the Nineveh porch & they departed at 5. Lady L. came to dine– Monty sang in the eveng. This is the anniversary of pr Augustus’ birthday (22 yrs old)– | |
