26 September 1862 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset
Friday. 26th [September 1862]. Down at 10½. Everybody went out directly to see the rackets. Alice came down and I took care of her till 11½. I then went to the court and Maria left with me directly. We went and got some grapes & pears from Baker. I, Mrs Graham & Temmy had luncheon together. The rest did not come in till long past 2. After luncheon Car, Temmy & I went for a drive in the sociable thro’ Longham & Wimborne. We found it rather cold so whilst tea was preparing I & Car took a little walk & went to look at the rackets. I printed off a page. After dinner I did some of the Decalcomanie which I got at Bourne yesterday. Ivor sang—bed late.
