28 September 1862 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Sunday. 28th [September 1862]. Was very late and had only time to get breakfast and dress for church. Mr Ponsonby only preached– In the afternoon Mr Francis the new curate preached but he was almost inaudible. Lady L & Mr Pon: came in to tea. They proposed a visit to the Hive tomorrow to celebrate Granville’s birthday. I wrote to Car in the eveng & we had long discussions about her & her affairs. | |
