2 November 1862 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset
Sunday. 2nd [November 1862]. Was very late and only had time to have a hasty breakfast & go off to church. After church I, Mrs F. & Ivor walked up to the keepers. Blan. followed us up there & came back with us. We had lunch at ¼ 2 and then went to church. Mr Francis did the duty & Monty did not go the 2nd time. There was a funeral sermon for Gerard– After church we went up to call at Luffs and from thence I slipt off to the Pynes where I stayed and had some tea. Mr Pyne walked home with me and we called to Blanches window for her to let me in which she did. It was a lovely moonlight night. I went up & sat with Mrs F. till dinner and sat next to Monty at dinner. They all roared at the end of dinner & made me laugh wh they greatly enjoyed and made me laugh for 5 min. with out stopping. I played a little and we amused ourselves making sketches of each other. I sat up late writing–
