29 November 1862 — Exeter House, Roehampton | |
Saturday. 29th [November 1862]. The M. & Maria went to town. I practised in the morng and in aftern went for a drive in the poney carriage with Con:, we went to Putney to make some enquiries for Maria & home by Richd Road & Roehampton. Ivor came down and in eveng he & Con: came & sat & smoked in my room till 2 oclock and I read out bits of Dombey & Son at which we roared. | |
