9 December 1862 — Exeter House, Roehampton | |
Tuesday. 9th [December 1862]. Kates baby was brought in at ½ 7 and we got up pretty early. Messrs Layard & Bruce left at 10¼– Schrei also left for Cheltenham. Maria returned from Milton. It rained in the aftern so I did not go out—but we had tea in the study at 5. I did Maria’s hair for her as she was to dine out but the fly forgot to come so she could not go after all. | |
