Sunday. 15th [March 1863]. Breakfast up stairs & went to church with the rest at St Marys Putney. After lunch sat with Blanche in my room. She went to church but I had a headache & did not go (Mr Henley preached in the morng). I fell asleep over some puzzles I was learning & when I woke up ordered tea. At 5 had tea. Temmie came down. When who should come in but Monty! He & Puss Welby called in on their way to dine at Richmond. Connie came & sat in our room in the dark till dinner when she went to dinner & I had some brought me. She came & sat with me after dinner & we read over Miss K’s old letters from Monty & Maria. Bed at 10¼.
