22 March 1863 — Exeter House, Roehampton
Sunday. 22nd [March 1863]. I was late so I sent Thomas to church and dressed myself was therefore not down till after 12. Read the Psalms & lessons & wrote letters. Maria brought her children in to see me—the baby arrayed in a gorgeous new sash I had given him. After lunch I went with Blanche to St Marys where there was a service especially for the young wh was over by 4¼. Mr Henley read it. Had 5 oclock tea in my room. Trenfield came down & I sat talking to her in my room till dinner. After dinner I read & went to bed early.
