23 May 1863 — Exeter House, Roehampton
Saturday. 23rd [May 1863]. Breakfast in bed. I rode in the morng with Sch. & the M.—we met Mr Evans who rode with us some time. Milord & Mr Flamanck came to lunch. Sang with Mme DuPouy in the afternoon & drove out with the M. in the Park, saw the Princess driving and then went home to fetch out Miss K. & Blanche but by the time we got back into the Park everyone had left. We went to Philips’ but found the shop shut so went home calling at Mitchells– Was very tired in the eveng & falling asleep in my arm chair—thought it time to go to bed early wh I did & Blanche slept with me. Connie had gone down to Maria’s till Monday– Today the day year of poor Augustus death–
