4 June 1863 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset
Thursday. 4th [June 1863]. Went with Mr F., Con & Arthur in the Una boat & Ivor in the little one. We went along capitally & having the wind for us sailing back came along at a tremendous rate at last, there being rather too much wind for Arthur to manage the boat alone we put in & went to luncheon– Afterwards I, Connie & Mr F. went in to Wimborne in the dog cart & afterwards a little way on the Poole road & home thro’ the Plantation Road. Had tea at 5—singing in the eveng– “All among the barley” was the chief song. I went to bed pretty early. There was another fire to be seen from my window, one between Ringwood & X church.
