6 December 1863 — Hendrefoilan, nr. Swansea, Glamorgan | |
Sunday. 6th [December 1863]. In time for breakfast, had letters fm IMG, FEB & Kate. We walked to Church abt 2 miles off. Mr Montague Welby read prayers but there was no sermon. I meant to have walked home but Mrs Dillwyn persuaded me to drive wh was lucky as before we reached home it poured. After lunch we went for a walk, Miss Dillwyn, Mr Thomas—Connie, Essie, Capt. Franklin & myself, we walked 2 miles to the sea shore. It rained on and off frequently in small showers. We walked a little way along the sands & picked up shells, played dick duck & drake and had a very dirty walk home & returned with very dirty wet feet. We had 5 T. Connie played Beethoven & after dinner we had some music. I & Amy played some duets. We had spelling words. Bed at 12– | |
