11 May 1864 — 11 Cavendish Square | |
Wednesday. 11th [May 1864]. Down to breakfast. Saw Luff. Went over to No. 14 to take Italian lesson & stayed lunch. Also H. Currie & Bonilea Baillie. Sang with BVG for a little time & at 3½ went out driving with the M & Connie. We called on Fy Hamond & Mr & Mrs Wicksted and stayed with them for more than an hour when the M fetched us & after a little more shopping we came in. I practised a little & arranged the epergne for dinner. Sir H. & Lady Rawlinson, Mr & Mrs Hussey Vivian, Mr & Mrs Ker Seymer, Mrs Hambro, Car, Ian Hamilton, Lionel Ashley, Reggie Welby, Ivor & Monty all dined making excluding ourselves 17 in no: singing & playing in the eveng, to bed late. | |
