Thursday. 12th [May 1864]. Rather late for breakfast. Wrote to Kate. Minnie Balfour called & sat with us for a little time and at 12½ I went out walking with Susan H. We walked in the Park where we met Arthur, Ivor, Monty riding and Mary Felmer. Schr & the M rode. Had lunch with Alfred Seymour & Monty. At 2 I wrote invitation cards till 4½ when I went out driving with the M. We called at the Rawlinson & the M. left me there. Susan H. came there. The baby was brought down to be looked at, we had 5 T. and after having done a little shopping we returned home. I dressed early for dinner. Lady Felmer, Mrs Hambro, Mrs Rashleigh, Minnie Balfour, Mr Weguelin, Tony Hamond, Mr H. Seymour, Col. Grant & Hippy Damer dined with us. Mr Weg: took me down & I sat between him & Ed. Hutchins, we had a little music Connie played & IBG sang after dinner. Just at the end of the eveng Mary F. fainted in the boudoir but we soon got her round & I made IBG go with her in the carriage for fear of her going off again. Blanche & Temmy went to the Opera to see Falstaff at Her Majestys– | |
