Tuesday. 24th [May 1864]. Did cards in the morng. Went out driving with Susan afterwards. I being rather tired did not go out in the eveng. I had had rather a row with Monty & cried so as to make my head ache. I drove with Susan to help her to choose a bonnet and she called on the Damers. Blanche & Con: went to the Opera to Sir W. Abby’s box at Her Majestys and then Blan: came home—the others went to the Holmesdales & Shaw Lefevers at Spring Gardens. | |
