2 November 1864 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Wednesday. 2nd [November 1864]. Practised all the morning till 12 & then wrote. At ¼ to 3 I & IBG went to the Pastoral Aid meeting at Wimborne & the M & B came in the brougham. We met Mrs Bankes at the door. Ld Shaftesbury was not there after all– Mr Reginald Smith & Mr Moore & Mr Kelly spoke & it was very dull– Directly I got home I went out [to] Mrs Pynes & stayed there to T. Mrs Pyne, Mary & John walked home with me. I wrote two letters & knitted after dinner & sang a little while Ivor played chess. I went to bed at 11½. | |
