17 January 1865 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Tuesday. 17th [January 1865]. There was pigeon shooting & we went out in the afternoon to see it from the terrace. I then walked with Mrs Ham:, Miss Penne: & Alice G. to the shooting whither Kate & Graham V. had also gone. We joined them near the keepers. Mr Hambro made Alice fire off his gun wh hurt her shoulder. I walked home with Freddy Villiers round by Mrs Whitelocks & got home before the others. We had some singing. Con: played whist with Mr Damer. We danced in the eveng. (I played “battle” with Graham, Alice & Miss P. in the morng) Aug. Lumley & Ld Sandys & the C. Forbes came to day (sat between Schreiber & Cecil). | |
