8 February 1865 — Paris | |
Wednesday. 8th [February 1865]. Ivor & Luff went off to shop early & I did not go out all day. I played the piano, read & worked till ½ past 3 when Gertie came. I had on my things ready to go out but she preferred stopping in wh we did– Ivor soon returned and then we sang & Gertie played and we all had some T. At 5 Gertie went away and I sat & read & Ivor dropped asleep. At 7. we went to dine at the 3 frères and I read out some of Bleak House, we came home at 10 and Ivor sat reading to me until ½ past 12 & then to bed– | |
