12 February 1865 — Ashburton Cottage, Roehampton
Sunday. 12th [February 1865]. Breakfast rather late. I went to church with Maria at Roehampton & Rd came after us. We went with Lady Leven into her house for a few mins and then thro’ their garden home & Lord Leven & Mr Melville walked part of the way with us. It was very cold & the snow still deep. After lunch I did not go out but sat & played with the children & read “Christians Mistake.” Mr Walter Drummond called & left his little girl “Mabel” to play with Alice. At abt 5 Ivor came down, dined & went back to London in the evening.
