9 January 1867 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Wednesday. 9th [January 1867]. Not so very late for breakfast and found Bee, the M. & Col George Mansel whom Monty had brought to stay last night after the dinner. After breakfast we played & I sang & then Monty fetched down all his music books and sang the whole morning till lunch surprised us. Monty drove Col Mansel to Blandford directly after lunch. It rained hard—Bee went out just to the village & I did not go out. Monty went to the Blandford Ball directly after dinner and I practised. Monty intends starting for the Vanes’ Wynyard tomorrow at 7. | |
