10 January 1867 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Thursday. 10th [January 1867]. Did not get up for breakfast & Bee came up after hers and I read her a lot of Mme d’Arblays Diary and repeated Morte D’arthur before I rose wh I did for luncheon. Monty did not go this morning and came to my room while I was dressing. After lunch Bee & I took a walk to Ashley to see Mrs Sol. Whitelock & I called at the Brumetts & found the baby had died last night. They asked me to see it wh I did. The first I have ever seen. Monty went to Fifehead. The Ponsonbys dined & departed at abt 11. | |
