23 January 1867 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Tuesday. [23rd April] 1867. Arthur was married to Adeline Chapman at Roehampton Chapel. After the breakfast we went to Exeter House which Richard Du Cane had bought, then we dined & had a little dance at wh some of the Chapman family assisted. While I danced with Horace Chapman he said to me that he was very happy to have seen this day as he had worked very hard to bring it abt. As we were not very delighted at the marriage I was not very pleased at his speech & thought he had better have not interfered. | |
