Wednesday. 6th January 1869. Monty took me down to stay at Uffington with the Berties for a Stamford Ball– Henry went down by the same train. We found a large party staying there Mr & Mrs William Welby (she Honble Victoria), Miss Susan Anne Mackensie, Hallé, Mr John Welby, Mr & Mrs C. Fitzwilliam &c &c Mr G. Tryon. | |
