Tuesday. 6th [April 1869]. Little Arthur Burr & Willie Bruce came to breakfast: at 11 Mr Burr called to fetch Arthur & Mr Bruce came for Willie. Miss Noakes came to try on my court dress. I wrote to ask Lady Clarendon to present me wh she consents to do. Mrs Austen (Kemble) came to lunch & stayed till 4. It was so wet that I refused to go out & sent away the brougham. Monty came & sat some time with me. At 5 2 Miss Duff Gordons’ called. B & Ivor went down to Canford today for a night. | |
