Friday. 16th [July 1869]. The Irish church being still on at the Hse Henry could not get away to dinner. We had Ld & Lady Hobart—Lady Char: Locker, Sir John Simeon, Val Prinsep, Mr J. De Gex, Mr & Mrs Payne & Blanche. Blanche sang & when all were gone but Mr de Gex I sang. Henry came home just as he had left. Too provoking! | |
