21 July 1869 — 21 Grafton Street | |
Wednesday. 21st [July 1869]. Fred: & Julian came in one of the Nawab’s open carriages at 3 to drive us down to Blackheath. We then went to Whitehall Place for Hy & drove down. Met Mr & Mrs Payne & an old Mr Lewis there. Dined at 6 and afterwards sat in the drawing room in the twilight & then the moon rose & it was a lovely night & we wd not have candles brought. We left at abt 10 & drove home in the open carriage. | |
