22 July 1869 — 21 Grafton Street | |
Thursday. 22nd [July 1869]. We dined with Lord & Lady Hobart. Met Lady de Grey, the Tom Bruces—Lady Augusta Stanley & the Dean & Mr Bright. This was my first acquaintance with him. He sat opposite me & the room being small I heard his conversation. They discussed the Irish church & Bright was rather dictatorial & dogmatic & quarrelsome. | |
