13 August 1869 — Paris | |
Friday. 13th [August 1869]. Breakfasted early and we went off to the Lyons line and went by 11 train. Saw at the station Sir Ed & the 3rd Lady Greathed who are on their honeymoon trip—also Leighton the artist. It was a fine day but not too hot & we had a coupé & were very comfortable. At Dijon we arrived at 5 and had an hour for dinner & then went on arriving at Dole at 8. We went to Hotel de Genève wh was very comfortable. I was tired & after having some tea was glad to get to bed. | |
