5 September 1869 — Verona | |
Sunday. 5th [September 1869]. I was not very well & did not go out in the morning. In the afternoon we took a drive & took Hill with us; we went to the picture gallery where I specially notice a picture by Cavazzola. We then took a drive round the town we drove past the church of S. Leno and also past the House Romeo & Juliet and then over some of the lovely bridges that cross the Adige. | |
