25 January 1870 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 25th [January 1870]. Henry & I took a walk in the Prado. Abt 6½ Mercier came over to say he was very sorry but his wife was ill “un attaque de nerfs”! & had gone to bed—would we come all the same. We said “of course” & went at ½ past 7. We met the Arab & his 2 interpreters & Mr Maubourg & came away abt 10 o’cl. | |
