15 February 1870 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 15th [February 1870]. I had a Spanish lesson in the morning. I had a headache & did not feel well. I put on my bonnet & went to the window in the rooms below to see a new landau Henry thought of buying & we decided to have it. After lunch Henry & I went out in the brougham & I went to try & see the Dss at the Palace. She sent word she was dressing. I was sorry as, the Regent being away I wanted to ask her to dinner one day. We went to leave a few cards but my head got worse so I left Hy at the Prado & drove straight home & went to bed & could not go with Henry to Mme Karnickys as she had asked us to spend the evening with them. | |
