29 March 1870 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 29th [March 1870]. Still cold & the wind east. I wrote in the morng & at ½ past one we went to the Casino to meet M. Zarco del Valle where he showed us all over the Archeological Museum– There [are] a great many nice things to see there & when finally arranged it will be very interesting. I got very tired & made them bring me home to rest & they went on afterwards to pay some calls and to tea with Mr Ffrench. After dinner Mr Hunt came in & sang to us some time also Brehm came & sat a little with us as he came to see Mr Sch: who has a cold in his eye & also Henry Beale who is not well. | |
