20 April 1870 — Madrid | |
Wednesday. 20th [April 1870]. They all got up early & went to Toledo by the 9 train– I did not accompany them—still being rather CD & in fact got up late. It unfortunately was not a very fine day. I sent the carriage to fetch Mme Riaño at 2 and she came & we sat together till abt 6 when we had the carriage & went out for an hour doing a little shopping before I took her home. I had a little dinner & sat reading till the party returned from Toledo at abt 10 & after they had had some food we went to bed. The M. & S. put off going tomorrow on acct of S having a sore throat. | |
