24 April 1870 — Madrid
Sunday. 24th [April 1870]. I went to church but not Henry. Afterwards we had lunch & went off in the carriage called for Mrs Hunt & Mme Bauer & took them to the Concert which we were sorry to think was the last. The carriage fetched us to take us home but the Bauers separated from us & went on to the Bull fight. We had a little farewell dinner of the Legation the Hunts—Ash & Sey & also had Mr Arthur Wegram & Lord Dunglass who have just arrived from the South. Mrs Hunt sang in eveng & Mr Esperanza also came in and played and we had a little music very quietly & pleasantly.
