2 May 1870 — Seville | |
Monday. 2nd [May 1870]. We wrote letters all the morning & at 12 Mr Will came to go out. However as I began to have a headache I did not go and instead lay down in my room & did not go down to dinner but had something brought to me. After dinner we took an open carriage & went for a drive in La Deliciosa where people drive up & down solemnly as we do in the Park in London. It is a pretty drive down an avenue between San Telmo gardens & the river. When we got home I felt better & agreed to go to the Opera with Henry & the Williamses as they had a box. We walked there & back and heard the Trovatore but not feeling very well I did not care to stay; at 10 we came home. I got letters from TMG & FEB & Cecil. | |
