28 May 1870 — Madrid | |
Saturday. 28th [May 1870]. Today we drove instead of riding & had to come in early to dress. My box of dresses arrived from England. We had a great dinner of all the English people to celebrate H. M’s birthday. We were 25 in all. We dined in the back drawing room & were a very merry party– Only the Queen’s & our health. | |
