9 June 1870 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 9th [June 1870]. I wrote letters & copied some for Henry. Just after luncheon Mme d’Aylton came & we sang duos together till Mr John Le Moine called to take leave of us saying he was returning to France– Silvela called at the same time & they were very glad to meet & make acquaintance. At 5 Mme Canitz called—& Venturita & Pepita Serrano came & I asked Mrs Burr to take them out in the carriage as I was going to ride wh she did, & we all went to the Casa de Campo & there met the Regent & Dss & rode with them. | |
