14 June 1870 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 14th [June 1870]. Up late & breakfast in bed. Mrs Burr went early to have a last look at the Picture Gallery & at 11.30 returned with Palmaroli. I wrote & chatted with Mrs Burr till ½ past 1 luncheon and at 3 Mrs Burr left for Avila & is going to Salamanca before going home. Till 5 I wrote worked & talked to Henry when we had tea & then went out riding with Brosé & Mercier, we dined alone & were playing Mandola when Del Cerro came in to say we could go to the Reservado of the Casa de Campo for the picnic &c &c– | |
