12 July 1870 — Madrid | |
Tuesday. 12th [July 1870]. A messenger arrived from Eng: but brought me very little. I wrote a great deal for Henry & worked my embroidery. The Prussia Minister Canitz called—no further news. After dinner we walked to see Mme Karnicky but found her just going out so did not see her & we walked on to the Prado & sat there a little while & then came home in a cab. | |
