21 July 1870 — Madrid | |
Thursday. 21st [July 1870]. I worked & wrote. At ½ past 6 we went for a drive to leave some cards & take a turn in the Fuente & at ¼ to 8 we called for the Riaños & brought them home to dine with us. Mr Seymour & Mercier also dined with us. After dinner Cerruti came in and said he had been dining with Bauer who starts for Paris tomorrow & Mr Weisweiller had returned so the gentlemen said they would go & bid Mr Bauer adieu & they left with Riaños who went home at 11 & I went to bed. | |
